European Maine Coons
Bella Maine Coons — Ethical, Family‑Raised Maine Coon Kittens in Wisconsin
At Bella Maine Coons, our cats live in our home as cherished family members — sharing our routines, our space, and our affection. We keep our program intentionally small so every cat and kitten receives personal love, enrichment, and meaningful interaction.
Our mission is simple: raise exceptional, healthy, well‑socialized Maine Coons with integrity, transparency, and genuine care.
We’re truly grateful for every family who considers welcoming one of our Maine Coon kittens into their home. Because our cats’ well‑being comes first, we respond ONLY to families who value ethics, transparency, and quality of life — not just price.
Our reputation is built on ethical standards, transparency, and word‑of‑mouth, and because our planned litters are consistently reserved by families on our waiting list, we do not publicly advertise our kittens.
Bella Maine Coons Waiting List
A Simple, Friendly Questionnaire
Families are added to our waiting list only after completing our brief questionnaire and connecting with us personally. The questionnaire does not ask for personal or sensitive information, nor does it commit you to a kitten. Instead, it helps us get to know each other and understand how we can support you — whether you need guidance on:
Acclimating your kitten to your home
Feeding a nutritionally complete diet
Choosing litter boxes and litter types
Grooming and coat care
Understanding Maine Coon traits and needs
We encourage open communication and welcome every question. You must reach out to us personally via email or phone call in order for us to send the application to you.
Availability, Pricing & Deposits
No Deposit Required for Photos, Videos, or Live Introductions
To join our Bella Maine Coons Waiting List, we never require a deposit to view photos or videos of our kittens, nor do we charge anything for live FaceTime introductions. Families should always feel comfortable asking for updates, details, or proof of kittens before making any commitments. Breeders who demand money upfront before providing information, images, or live video are often a red flag.
Deposits
We accept a $500 deposit only after kittens are born and you have chosen a specific kitten. Deposits may be made:
In person with cash
By cashier’s check
Through PayPal
Every deposit includes a signed, detailed receipt, and the full amount is applied toward the final purchase price of your kitten. We DO NOT accept personal checks.
Pricing
Our pricing reflects the quality, health, and ethical standards of our program. Because Maine Coons vary in rarity and demand, pricing is structured as follows:
Females: typically $2,500
Males: typically $2,800 (males are naturally less common in litters and in higher demand due to their size)
Rare colors, patterns, or features (including polydactyl): $3,000+
Multi‑Kitten Discount
We offer a $350 discount per kitten when a family adopts more than one. This discount is valid for up to one year, even if the kittens are adopted at different times. Maine Coons are highly social animals, and we prioritize their emotional well‑being over profit.
Availability & Expected Wait Times
Our waiting list averages around 6-8 families, but this number should not discourage new applicants. Several factors influence how quickly a family is matched:
Some families wait for a very specific color, pattern, or gender
Others may find a kitten from another breeder
Litter sizes vary naturally from small to large
The more flexible a family is with color or gender, the faster the match
Because our program is small, ethical, and home‑based, availability depends on responsible breeding cycles and the well‑being of our queens.
Updates, Visits & Staying Connected
Regular Photo and Video Updates
We send photos and videos every two weeks so families can watch their kitten grow. We also offer live FaceTime tours from our in‑home cattery so you can see your kitten in real time and observe how they interact with us.
In‑Person Visits
Families who live close enough may visit their kitten once they reach 8 weeks old and have received their first vaccinations. Visits take place at our pet food store, Natural Carnivore, in Johnson Creek. You’re welcome to stay as long as you like.
Kitten Release Age
We release kittens no earlier than 12–14 weeks, with most going home at 14 weeks. This ensures they are:
Fully weaned
Properly socialized
Emotionally confident
Physically developed
This timeline benefits both the kittens and their mothers, supporting healthier long‑term outcomes.
Safe, Ethical Travel for Out‑of‑State Families
Under no circumstances, we will ever ship our kittens as cargo. Instead, we help long‑distance families arrange safe travel so kittens fly as passengers and receive attentive care throughout the journey.
We are flexible in making travel arrangements for long distance or out of state families purchasing a kitten or kittens from us.
- Families may either fly or drive to us, and arrangement for personal pickup in our store “Natural Carnivore”. The kitten will travel as a passenger and be attended to by them the entire time.
- We will drive or fly to the families home, or closest airport. Families are responsible to cover our travel costs & time.
- Car Travel: $25 per hour + gas both ways. (+ if needed, hotel),
- Air Travel: Plane Ticket, Pet Travel Fee, Terminal Parking Fee, (+ Shuttle/Rental if needed), Hotel Fee, +$300 for time. Understand there are often layovers/delays, and several hours of waiting between flights, leading to an entire weekend dedicated to safely delivering your kitten.
Our Breeding Philosophy
Purposeful, Preservation‑Focused Pairings
As ethical preservation breeders, we carefully match our males and females to strengthen the breed. We prioritize:
Genetic health
Structural soundness
European Maine Coon type and aesthetics
Temperament and social confidence
Responsible Breeding Practices
We never breed our females more than 1–2 times per year, allowing them to fully recover, rejuvenate, and enjoy life as pampered house cats between litters.
We also retire our breeding cats young — typically after 2–3 years — and perform annual health exams and genetic testing to ensure they remain healthy and thriving.
Kittens are Intact when they are released.
It is highly documented, that waiting until the kitten is at least 9-12 months or older, before having them spayed/neutered is highly advantageous for their growth, development, and health. This allows their hormones time to help the kitten grow and develop, and heavily reduce the risk of health issues.
